   I’ve worked for 2 different home builders, and for both it was 1% of the base price, plus 3-5% of the upgrades, plus other “incentive” bonuses (such as top number of sales, top dollars in sales, top dollar upgrades, etc)

   Also you should keep in mind that you do not get your commission until the house CLOSES, so you could sell something today, and not get paid for it for 6 to 8 months (or in the case of the big ones with construction delays, up to a year!)
